Teaching today is different from what it used to be. As a matter of fact, many of the tools that have become fundamental to educators today were only optional when I was a student. Options that were hardly ever used.

There are advantages and disadvantages to any strategy used to achieve instructional objectives. But content it more likely to become ‘embedded’ in the long term memory of students when the class is fun and memorable.

One way to make scince fun is to (as much as possible) use field trips instead of lectures. Students learn more when they have fun learning.
